Our mission
The Coolamon Aboriginal Arts Hub supports established and emerging Aboriginal artists to create, promote, exhibit and sell high quality, authentic Aboriginal art.
Coolamon Aboriginal Arts Hub provides Aboriginal artists and community partners with:
- Opportunities to create, share and preserve their art and culture
- Professional support to produce, promote and market their artwork
- Opportunities to generate income from their visual arts practice
- Training, professional development and employment in the visual arts industry
- Opportunities to foster intergenerational learning and cross-cultural exchange.
Coolamon Aboriginal Arts Hub gives audiences and customers opportunities to:
- Browse and purchase authentic Aboriginal art and have it shipped to their door
- Learn about the established and emerging Aboriginal artists working with us
- Learn more about Aboriginal art, culture and languages
- Help Aboriginal artists earn an income from their visual arts practice
- Support Aboriginal communities to record, share and preserve their culture
- Foster intergenerational learning and cross-cultural exchange.
Our story
The Coolamon Aboriginal Arts Hub was set up and is managed by Annecto, a non-profit aged care and disability provider, working in partnership with Aboriginal Elders and communities.
Annecto is currently working with a number of Aboriginal communities across New South Wales, including:
- Kempsey, Mid-North Coast
- Nowra, South Coast
- Dubbo, Central West
- Sydney, Western suburbs.
To date, Coolamon Aboriginal Arts Hub has included setting up and managing:
- Local artist studios
- An art skills workshop program
- Commercial gallery spaces
- An online digital gallery
- An annual exhibition program
- Marketing, sales and freight services
- Financial and administration systems.

Our team
Coolamon Aboriginal Arts Hub is led and overseen by an Elders Steering Committee made up of senior Aboriginal Arts and culture leaders from across New South Wales.
Elders Steering Committee founding members include Gumbaynggirr Elder Uncle Roger Jarrett, and Dunghutti Elder Uncle Bob Mumbler.
A survivor of the Stolen Generations, Uncle Roger is an artist, writer and mentor, and Board Member of Kinchela Boys Home Aboriginal Corporation (KBHAC).
Community leader and social welfare advocate Uncle Bob is a former Chair of the Dunghutti Elders Council and a recipient of an Order of Australia Medal.
