Aunty Jaluka’s description of the artwork: “This is a painting of my animal totem, the Gabayi or Black Cockatoos. The Gabayi are messengers – by their numbers they tell us how many days of rain we’ll be getting. If you see 5 cockatoos flying overhead that means there will be 5 days of rain.”
